With several Crankworx Summer Series festivals and three flagship Crankworx World Tour events, the 2025 calendar is packed with heart-pounding competition and festival vibes that will unite mountain biking enthusiasts from all walks of life. Setting Up Bicycle Suspension: High Speed and Low Speed

Bike suspension is an essential component that helps to improve the overall ride quality, traction, and control of your bike. But, many riders are not familiar with how to set it up correctly to suit their riding style and preferences. In this post, we’ll explore the difference between high speed and low speed regulation on a bicycle suspension and how to set it up for optimal performance.

High speed regulation refers to how the suspension reacts to bigger impacts and high-speed bumps, such as big rocks or jumps. Low speed regulation refers to how the suspension reacts to small bumps and pedaling inputs, such as roots or small rocks.

To set up the high-speed regulation, you will need to adjust the compression damping. Compression damping controls how fast the suspension compresses during a high-speed impact. If the compression damping is set too low, the suspension will compress too quickly and can cause the bike to bottom out. If the compression damping is set too high, the suspension will not compress enough and can cause the bike to feel harsh and unforgiving.

On the other hand, low speed regulation is controlled by the rebound damping. Rebound damping controls how fast the suspension extends after a high-speed impact. If the rebound damping is set too low, the suspension will extend too quickly and can cause the bike to feel bouncy and unstable. If the rebound damping is set too high, the suspension will extend too slowly and can cause the bike to feel sluggish and unresponsive.

The video features none other than Brendan Howey, a Canadian rider who's been tearing up the trails for almost 15 years now. In celebration of his 30th birthday, Howey treated himself to some epic freeride lines and a fast and flowy trail, all captured on camera by the talented team of Rupert Walker, Clay Porter, and Calvin Huth.

The video is called "HWY 30," named after a piece of trail Howey built by hand for the coast segment of the video. It's wide like a highway and fittingly, he was 30 years old when he built it. The video showcases Howey's incredible talent and style on a bike, as he navigates through some breathtaking scenery in British Columbia.

In an interview, Howey said, "For me, this project was like a bucket list project. I feel super lucky to have worked on another video with Rupert, and then to get Calvin and Clay on it as well was the icing on the cake. I can't thank them enough for working on this little (big) project."

The cinematography is nothing short of stunning, with Walker, Porter, and Huth bringing their A-game to capture every jump, drop, and turn in all its glory. The video is a testament to the incredible talent of everyone involved, from the rider to the camera crew and everyone in between.
