Van Der Poel Set to Win the 2025 Mountain Bike World Championship

In October last year, Mathieu Van Der Poel revealed to the spanish newspaper Marca his intention of racing the mountain bike XC World Championships in 2025 with no other thing in mind that winning the rainbow jersey. He is already Road, Ciclocross and Gravel World Champion.

The Dutch cyclist said: "If I could choose, I would like to become world champion mountain biker this year. I haven't succeeded yet and it keeps playing in the back of my mind."

Along with the 2025 World Champs, he aims to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic MTB Race. Van Der Poel stated: "almost certainly be the last Games I participate in" and he thinks "it would be great to try to finish in LA on the mountain bike"
