2025 Wireless Shimano XTR Derailleur and Brakes Leaked

There have been rumors and leaks about Shimano developing a completely new wireless system for their mountain bike top of the line version, the XTR.

It remains uncertain whether this wireless technology will be available in the lower and mid-range from the release date or if we will have to wait longer to see whether the Deore and SLX will receive it.

Also, it's now known that RD-M9260 is for Ebikes and possibly has no battery (we've now been told that is does have a battery). The RD-M9250 is the standard XTR with a battery.

It’s been five years (since February 2019) since SRAM introduced its wireless AXS system, followed by the launch of the T-Type transmission in March 2023. During this time, the Japanese company hasn’t released any new electronic mountain bike derailleurs, but it looks like this is about to change this year.

This leaked images found in Reddit hint what it looks to be the new 2025 Shimano XTR wireless derailleur and brakes.

Different styles or different models? The new derailleur has a pretty slim shape and a good battery integration.q
